Drever will tour around the Munster region before taking to the capital city to close the Irish leg of his shows.
Scottish folk singer-songwriter Kris Drever is set to tour across Ireland this September, with dates in Cork, Clare, and Dublin on his roster.
Drever has steadily become one of the most prolific folk musician's Scotland has to offer, with his recent single 'Scapa Flow 1919' nominated for Best Original Track by BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. The musician has collaborated with the like of: Cream’s Jack Bruce, Bela Fleck, Tinariwen, Danny Thompson, Tim O’Brien, Sarah Jarosz, Shawn Colvin, Rosanne Cash, Eddi Reader, Kate Rusby, Julie Fowlis, Karine Polwart and many more, including of course, his band Lau.
As well as his solo work, Drever is part of Lau alongside artists Martin Green and Aidan O'Rourke. The trio have released five studio albums, several EPs, and two live albums to date. Recently, Lau released their album Midnight and Closedown through Reveal Records to wild acclaim, including featuring in The Best Albums of The Year highlight by The Guardian.
Drever leaves Lau behind on his upcoming tour, however, focusing on his solo project. From September 14-18, the Scottish artist will take on Culturlann Sweeney Kilkee, Clare; Coughlan's Bar, Cork; Clonakilty Guitar Festival, Cork; Cashel Arts Festival; finally, closing his tour in Whelan's, Dublin.
