The band have also hinted at a Dublin-related surprise, to be revealed this month.
Scustin have announced the release of their debut album Confessions Of A Pub Talker, out September 19.
The post-funk four-piece also dropped their lead single, titled ‘The Ick (don't put blackcurrant in that pint of Guinness).’ They will perform at Trinity Ball on April 11, with other live dates in the UK scheduled for March and May.
“Lyrically, the track addresses the sacrilegious attempts to taint Ireland's most sacred beverage—Guinness—and draws a line between those who attempt such absurdities and those who don’t,” the band said of their new single. “The global phenomenon of ‘The Ick’ serves as a fitting metaphor, delivering the message with a sharp edge of satire, and highlighting how trivial annoyances can become outlets for frustration in a world full of more significant issues.”
The album was recorded and produced by Richie Kennedy, working in the past with bands like The Murder Capital, Interpol and Shame. The project is a concept record following the story of Larry, a barman in his 20s navigating modern Irish life.

Scustin derived inspiration for their recent single from bands like Viagra Boys, Idles and The Scratch. The band have performed at several festivals, including Electric Picnic, Latitude and Other Voices.
“We will have a secret DUBLIN surprise for anyone on our mailing list at the end of the month!” the band wrote on Instagram. “We also have some more intensely exciting news but we’re contractually obliged to keep our gobs shut for the time being…”
