His EP, Half Cut, will feature singles ‘Trouble’ and ‘Teacher,’ which are available to stream on Spotify now.
Half Cut will be released on Friday, August 24th.
Sean OB established himself in the Irish music scene as leader of spirited trio Trap Door, followed by two years on guitar with Raglans.
During his time with these bands, Sean displaying remarkable skills as a songwriter with poignant lyrics set to ferociously catchy rock ‘n’ roll melodies. Among his musical influences are Hunter S. Thompson and John Lennon, as well as stand-up comedians Doug Stanhope and Bill Hicks.
Clash Music praise Sean OB, writing: “There's a sprint-ahead energy to the newcomer's music, fusing the raw punk-poetry of Shane MacGowan with the yelping rock 'n' roll of Buddy Holly. New single 'Teacher' is an incredible ear-worm, matching a DIY aesthetic to some glorious pop hooks and lyrics that cut a little deeper." Joe.ie agree that ‘Teacher’ is “a song full of vigour and heart.”

Before recording his debut EP with Grammy Award winning producer Rob Kirwan (Hozier, PJ Harvey and The Horrors), Sean spent two years toiling away on demos in his bedroom studio. In our latest issue, Sean tells Hot Press: “It was awful- I nearly gave up.”
