Rising British pop star Mabel announced a second Dublin date on her upcoming winter tour this year.
Due to a phenomenal response to her first concert announcement (November 29) she’s decided to give fans a fantastic double-header. The additional gig will take place on Wednesday, November 28, at 10 a.m. in The Academy.
Mabel began studying music at the prestigious Rytmus Musikgymnasiet music school, where she honed her skills. Some would say the music runs in her blood. Her father Cameron McVey is a well-known producer who’s worked with the likes of Massive Attack and All Saints. Mabel’s mother is Neneh Cherry a cross-generational and genre bending musician of her time.
Mabel’s music explores themes of female independence, modern relationships and growing into your own skin. In 2015 she premiered on the music scene with ‘Know Me Better’ and has since made a name for herself with her more recent work. In 2017, her debut EP Bedroom spawned her dazzling single ‘Finders Keepers’, which spent five weeks in UK’s Top 10.
This year the young star has experienced a great deal of success ranging from the Critics’ Choice Brit Award to touring with superstar Harry Styles. Her latest single ‘Fine Line’ just went gold as she finished off a 13-date European headline tour. The future looks bright for this rising star, her upcoming Irish performances will surely be a sight to see.
