The Iranian-American pop-singer released her new track this past Friday
Persian-born singer Shab has released her new single 'Swerve' along with an energetic music video. The track is the next single from her anticipated 2nd album ONE SUITCASE.
'Swerve' is a fun and upbeat track that combines drill beats and EDM elements with Shab's smooth voice. The track's beat has an ode to Persian rhythms and beats and sounds like a pop-fusion track.
The video for 'Swerve' intensifies the song's appeal through energetic dancing, motorbikes, and stunning visuals of Shab in a "Swerve" bodysuit.
With all the elements of a pop star, Shab is anything but ordinary. The singer grew up in Iran in the 1980's during the Iranian revolution, which caused her to relocate to Turkey, then Germany before reuniting with her family in the US after four years of separation.

Shab has said, "When I left Iran, I was nine years old. I went to Ankara first and waited for my paperwork to come through, and then I went to Germany for almost three-and-a-half years. We escaped that way. While I was in Germany, my sister was my guardian. My mom was in the US. I didn’t see my mom for almost four years.”
Shab's employs an upbeat sound and flamboyant aesthetic to resist, showcasing her freedom and sexuality that might have been frowned upon in her home country.
Throughout her struggles, music was a respite for the singer who says that music and art helped protect her during the Iran-Iraq war. Describing her sound as universal she says "I am influenced by countless locations, contributing to my universally appealing sound."
Shab's new album ONE SUITCASE is set to release soon!
