Shakira has cancelled her concert in Lima, Peru on Sunday after being hospitalised for abdominal pain.

The Colombian artist issued a statement on her instagram story, posting that she had remained in the emergency room since Saturday night.

“The doctors whose care I am currently under have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening,” she wrote yesterday. “I am very sad to not be able to take the stage today. I’ve been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru.”

Shakira was set to perform on Sunday and Monday. A new date announcement is currently in the works.

“I hope to be released and well tomorrow so I’m able to perform,” she wrote.

The Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour began last Tuesday, with dates stretching across North and South America.

“Thank you all for your loving messages. You give me so much strength!! I love you with all my heart,” she wrote today in a new Instagram story.
