The Hot Press 'Hot For 2021' Irish Act's debut single has clocked up nearly 15 million streams on Spotify alone.
Following phenomenal success on the charts, 'Get Out My Head' – the first official single from Shane Codd – has gone platinum in Ireland.
Over the last year, Shane has emerged as one of the most hotly tipped producers in the country – earning a coveted place on the Hot Press list of 'Hot For 2021' Irish Acts. After releasing music independently for three years, his track ‘Get Out My Head’ began generating serious buzz on Soundcloud over lockdown – attracting the interest of several major labels. The single, which went on to be re-released by Polydor Records in late 2020, has since clocked up nearly 15 million streams on Spotify alone, and reached No.6 on both the Irish and UK charts.
Shane took to Instagram yesterday to share the news about his platinum certification.
"Going after platinum in the UK next..." he wrote. "Thanks to all for the support!"

In the new issue of Hot Press, out now, we caught up with Shane to discuss his remarkable journey so far – including signing to Polydor, the state of the Irish dance scene, and drawing inspiration from his trance-loving mam.
“When I made that song, lockdown had just started, and I wanted all of that stuff out of my head – all the stress of it,” he said of 'Get Out My Head'. “A lot of people have messaged me, saying, ‘This has helped me during lockdown’ or, ‘It makes me think about being back in the clubs dancing, or over in Ibiza’. That was the vibe I wanted, and it really sat with a lot of people.”
