Renowned Irish singers Sharon Shanon, Frances Black and Mary Coughlan will perform a set each at the Keadeen Hotel in Newbridge, Co. Kildare, on January 17, 2025.
Three of the most revered and successful female artists Ireland has to offer, the trio have performed and recorded together on numerous occasions down the years. The 1992 compilation album A Woman's Heart - on which Shannon, Black and Coughlan appeared alongside Mary Black, Dolores Keane, Eleanor McEvoy and Maura O'Connell - has sold over 750,000 copies, and was the highest selling record in Irish history upon its release.
They've also enjoyed successful careers as solo artists, with Shannon receiving worldwide recognition with her song 'Galway Girl' from the Hilary Swank movie, PS I Love You. Her 1991 self-titled debut became the best selling LP of Irish traditional music ever released in the country.
Frances Black's 1994 debut Talk To Me spent eight weeks atop the Irish album charts upon its release, signalling the beginning of a fruitful career both domestically and abroad. Black was also elected to Seanad Éireann as a Senator in 2016 and 2020.
