In the run-up to the release of her eagerly anticipated album, Sharyn Ward has returned with a powerful new single, 'This Auld Camp Here'.
The release – the singer-songwriter's first of 2023 – follows last year's 'Feeling Free' and the poignant 'Where Do All The Travelling People Go?'
Each original track set to appear on the upcoming album explores various aspects of Traveller life and culture. 'Feeling Free' celebrated the deep bond between a man and his horse, while 'Where Do All The Travelling People Go?' touched on the mental health struggles and discrimination faced by Travellers, as well as Sharyn's own journey through grief.
She states 'This Auld Camp Here' is "about how we wouldn't take all the money in the world for the auld camp we live in..."
"It's about when people wanted to buy us out, and them not realising that money can't buy things in life that are important to us – like family, my faith, peace, love, unity, storytelling, singing, passing traditions on to our young people, and the way our children can run wild and free," she continues.

The track offers a promising taste of what to expect from Sharyn's upcoming album – and continues to cement her status as a crucial voice in Irish music.
