Dublin International Short Film and Music Festival kicks off this Thursday
This Thursday sees the start of the highly anticipated Dublin International Short Film and Music Festival.
Running until Sunday, the festival is an independent event dedicated to bring together film makers and musicians from around the world, which is now in its fourth year.
125 films will be shown in competition this year, with the majority of the screenings taking place just a stone's throw from HP Towers in 4 Dame Lane (don't tell the boss if you see a Hot Press scribe sneaking in the back for a feed of cultural goodness!). Efforts from Irish shores will be joined by films from as far afield as Tuvalu, with entries from South Korea, Tunisia, USA and Australia also taking their place at what promises to be a truly international event.
Indeed, one of the highlights of this year will be a day of Romanian shorts, taking place at Cineworld on Saturday. With the first screening kicking off at 11am, there's 25 separate offerings to be enjoyed across the day. There's also the prospect of and exciting exhibition combining Irish and Romanian culture, featuring the work of the renowned Eleonora Cupcencu.
The curtain falls at a closing gala in the Sugar Club on Sunday night, but there's far too much fun to be had across the weekend to begin thinking about that just yet! For tickets, and the full programme of events, hop over to [link]www.disfmf.ie[/link].
