Simple Minds have confirmed that Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall will join them for their upcoming Trinity College show on July 1.

"Joy abounds to be opening for @simplemindsmusic at Trinity College in Dublin July 1st!" Tunstall wrote on Instagram. "A deservedly sold out show, I'm thrilled to be a part of their night!"

The show is part of the Trinity Summer Series, an annual event of live music at Trinity College Green. Alongside Simple Minds, The Teskey Brothers, Weezer, Rag'n'Bone Man, Amble, and Marti Pellow will perform between June 30 and July 6.

The Dublin gig is one of many dates in Simple Mind's upcoming Alive & Kicking tour, starting on April 29 in Chile, playing a total of 48 shows around the world, ending in Italy on July 27.

The tour will celebrate their recently revealed album, Live In The City Of Diamonds, which will launch on April 25. The record is the third in Simple Minds' Live In The City series of live-recorded works, following Live In The City Of Light in 1987 and Live In The City Of Angels in 2019.
