IDLES' upcoming tour includes three nights at Vicar Street in May 2021.
Sinead O'Brien is among the all-female support acts who have been announced for IDLES' highly anticipated UK and Ireland tour next year. The Limerick post-punk poet, tipped as one of the Hot Press 'Hot for 2020' Irish acts, will open for IDLES at the O2 Academy Brixton in London on June 18.
The other support acts include Jehnny Beth, Anna Calvi, Cate Le Bon, Big Joanie, Witch Fever and Wych Elm.
IDLES' headline tour, in support of their new album, Ultra Mono, out on Friday, kicks off in May 2021 – and includes three nights at Dublin's Vicar Street, from May 16 to 18. Jehnny Beth and Big Joanie have been announced as the support slots for all three of the Dublin gigs.
Ahead of the release of Ultra Mono, we spoke to IDLES' Joe Talbot in the new issue of Hot Press – out this week. In the interview, Talbot reflects on class divides, self-acceptance, the state of England, online hate, Black Lives Matter, Fontaines D.C., and why the Bristol band's new album is their most important work yet.
