Sinead O'Connor has postponed all shows until 2022, citing ongoing addiction and mental health issues. The 53-year-old singer-songwriter took to Twitter to break the news to her fans, saying, "Message for folks who have tickets for next year's shows: those shows are being postponed until 2022 so that I may go into a one year trauma and addiction treatment program because I had a very traumatic six years...now recovery starts."

In the Twitter thread, O'Connor asked for support and understanding, explaining, "if I take this time to heal, I will be fit for a lifetime of touring; if I don't, I won't."
I would ask you please to be supportive and understanding and to hold onto your tickets for 2022 because I will be back with a new album and tour.

She said she still plans to release her memoir in June 2021, and will be promoting that online, and stressed that she will explain everything in 2022.
She also took the opportunity to shine a light on the 24/7 nature of the music industry, saying, "[the] music business is a very unforgiving place for artists who need to postpone due to emotional or mental health issues."
