Rising rockers debut sinful new sound.
Three records in and Surrey-based pop punk types You Me At Six have decided to take things in a slightly darker direction for their latest effort Sinners Never Sleep. Featuring guest appearances from Bring Me The Horizon’s lead growler Oli Sykes (‘Bite My Tongue’) and Winston McCall from Aussie metalcore heroes Parkway Drive (‘Time Is Money’), the album is the band’s best yet and sees them benefit hugely by adding a little spice to the sugar. But it’s not all barking and muscular breakdowns: the boys have peppered the album with a few good-old-fashioned ballads too (‘Nobody Does It Better’) and while singer Josh Franceschi has taken a huge risk writing about the group’s near break-up last year, the honesty and anger of tracks like ‘Bite My Tongue’ gives the band some much needed authenticity. It should help them shake off the teeny-bopper tag for good.
