Skindive in their current form will be no more but watch out for spin-off projects
Dublin outfit Skindive have announced that they've split up.
"After six years, three managers, two deals and a couple of personnel changes, they figured it was time to call it a day," says Ronan O'Leary, the M.D. of their current label Aplhamale Records. "Ger Farrell and Anthony Kiernan have joined Skindive's old guitarist Gerry Owens in his new band, Lluther. They're particularly heavy and will be releasing something through Aplhamale in the New Year.
"As regards their singer, Danielle Harrison, I understand she's writing her own material."
Great things were expected when former Island Records supremo Chris Blackwell personally signed Skindive to his new Palm Pictures imprint.

Despite positive reviews, their eponymous debut album failed to chart and resulted in them transferring their allegiances to Alphamale. Having revamped their line-up, the band released a single, 'Falling Down', in the summer but, again, this failed to dent the top 30 and resulted in the collection it was supposed to flag, Precious, being shelved.
