Skrillex previously collaborated with Starrah on her 2020 debut 'The Longest Interlude'.
Skrillex has teamed up with Starrah and Four Tet to produce pop-influenced dance track ‘Butterflies,’ which was released on Monday.
This is the dubstep producer’s first single since 2020's ‘Kliptown Empyrean,’ which he released to the surprise of fans on Soundcloud last October after a year of music silence. The Grammy Award-winning producer's 2019 single ‘Midnight Hour’ featured Ty Dollar $ign and Boys Noize.
Skrillex previewed 'Butterflies' on Instagram on Sunday evening with a video of him singing and dancing to the track.
The electronic artist is expected to release a new album soon after announcing via Instagram that he was working on multiple albums in March 2020. Skrillex has remained quiet with releases in recent years but helped produce tracks for Justin Bieber on his latest album, Justice
This track features Starrah's silky pop laden vocals over a bouncy house music beat filled with trippy vocal chops. Starrah's songwriting credits include Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Savage’, Camila Cabello’s ‘Havana’ and Maroon 5’s ‘Girls Like You’.
