Slash is Gibson's first Global Brand Ambassador
Welcome to the corporate jungle.
Gibson has announced that Slash, the famous Guns 'n' Roses guitarist, will be their first Global Brand Ambassador, Billboard reports.
The partnership seems like a natural one. Slash has been playing Gibson guitars for his entire career. Think back to memories you have of Slash and you will see it: the sunglasses, the top hat, the hair, and a Gibson guitar being brandished with all the confidence of a man holding a negative DNA result in a paternity test.
This is not the first time that Slash has worked with Gibson. He has assisted with the development and marketing of several projects.
Still, this new title represents a new level of cooperation between Slash and Gibson.
"It's an honor to be Gibson's first Global Brand Ambassador," said Slash in a statement. "I've been working with Gibson since the early days of my professional career and playing Gibson guitars since before that. I'm proud of the creative relationship we've developed over the years."
In other news, talks to offer Slash the role of Global Ambassador for top hats have stalled after powerful Steam Punk and Dickensian lobbying groups successfully halted the motion.
