Slave To The Music

Gravel-voiced crooner James Morrison got pretty damning reviews for his last album The Awakening, furthering my worry that he will never again write a song as lovely as 2006’s ‘You Give Me Something’. Current single ‘Slave To The Music’ starts off pretty well, with the 27-year-old growling pleasantly over a Prince-esque bass line, but soon, it all boils down into a sloppy soft-rock porridge.
