Produced by St Vincent, The Center Won't Hold is the alternative rock band's final record with drummer Janet Weiss.
This is Sleater-Kinney's long awaited ninth full lenght album, which comes four years after No Cities to Love - their reunion album - was released.
Reviewed by Hot Press a couple days ago, the LP is said to pack "just the type of gut punch you would expect from arguably the greatest surviving American punk-rockers."
The 11 tracks are the result of a fruitful collaboration with acclaimed artist St Vincent which turned out even greater than expected.
“We originally thought we would just go into the studio with her for a few days to see what happens. We did it more as an experiment, but she was really amazing. She had so many ideas. She was really prepared,” Sleater-Kinney’s Corin Tucker told Exclaim.
"We got four songs done in five days — like, core songs of the album. She has a really different skillset from Carrie and I. She has all of this knowledge about synthesizers and has made music in different ways. And she’s also a writer and a singer, so she brings a lot of different skills to producing that was fruitful and brought out new ideas from the band,” she added.

As reported by Hot Press last month, the band is taking a new direction and its long-serving drummer, Janet Weiss, revealed that it was time for her to move on.
"I think for Carrie [Brownstein] and Corin [Tucker] it was liberating to explore a different sound palette," she commented in a statement about the release.
"Annie (St. Vincent) has a lot of experience building her own music with keyboards and synthesizers so she could be our guide to help us make sense of this new landscape and still sound like us.”
Spotify and Apple Music suscribers can listen to the brand-new album in full here and here.
Sleater-Kinney will soon get on the road for a lenghty tour in support of The Center Won't Hold. They are set to perform at Dublin's Vicar Street next March.
