Rapper Slowthai has officially been removed from UK festivals Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds following his two rape charges.
The 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Tyron Frampton, is also due to appear at Dublin’s Forbidden Fruit festival this June. So far no announcements have been made about Frampton’s upcoming appearance at the June festival.
The rapper- who has been previously nominated for a Mercury prize- appeared before Oxfordshire Magistrates Court yesterday, charged with oral and vaginal penetration of a woman without her consent in Oxford in September 2021.
Since his removal from the two UK festivals, neither Slowthai, nor the event’s organisers have made any official announcements. Originally appearing below Lewis Capaldi on the Reading & Leeds line-up poster, the updated lineup on the festival’s official website no longer features the 28-year old’s name.
Similarly, his name has been deleted from the bottom-left side of Glastonbury’s lineup poster on the festival’s website. The festival, which is one of the world’s biggest, is due to take place at Worthy Farm in Somerset between June 21th and 25th.
Frampton released a statement yesterday via Twitter, addressing the allegation for the first time, with the rapper stating he, “categorically [denies] the charges,”

“I am innocent and confident my name will be cleared. Until then I will apply my energy to ensure this is concluded swiftly and justly,” the statement continued.
