The British rapper is set to do a full run of the UK in September following his six successful intimate shows. His new album UGLY is out now.
The British rapper has just shared the full video for his song ‘Yum’, the lead single from the rapper’s new album, UGLY. The album’s title is an acronym for U Gotta Love Yourself. The 28-year-old’s new record follows the story of a failed journey through therapy, reflecting on self-improvement, and taking pleasure in your flaws, which sees the rapper place his own contradictions within the album.
Following an intimate six show tour of the UK with tickets capped at a £1 price tag, the British rapper’s mind is in overdrive in ‘Yum’s’ new scathing video. The invasive record’s lyrics read, “More coke, more weed, more E’s, more trips…”
Produced in conjunction with Dan Carey and Zach Nahome, slowthai has said of the lead single, “’Yum’ is me saying this is what people want me to do but this isn’t doing anything for me. I’m ready to leave it all behind but it keeps pulling me back — more this, more that, it’s never enough.”
The stunningly seedy video translates the singer’s tense mindframe into a dark, caustic visual, encapsulating the song’s story.
