American rapper Snoop Dogg has announced the release date for his new album Missionary via a social media video. The album has been produced entirely by Dr. Dre. Set to be released on Dec 13, it is being billed as the follow-up to Snoop’s 1993 debut Doggystyle, the last full length collaboration between the artists which became the fastest-selling hip-hop LP ever upon its release.
Missionary was first mentioned by Snoop Dogg in 2022, stating that it would be finished that November. He described it as a “30th anniversary to Doggystyle”.
In August, Dr. Dre revealed that he was close to finishing mixing the project, and that Sting would feature on it. Snoop has confirmed that Jelly Roll would also be appearing on the album.
Other musicians have stated that they know about the project or will feature on it, including 50 Cent and Method Man.

Snoop and Dr. Dre have collaborated several times, including Dre’s solo album The Chronic, at the 2022 Super Bowl, and most recently during the Paris Olympics closing ceremony this year.
