The band’s self-produced EP includes two unreleased new songs.
Dublin-based indie pop band Soda Blonde have announced their new EP People Pleaser, set for release on May 9.
The five-track project was written, recorded, and produced entirely by the 4-piece. It explores what is described as "the quiet self-destruction that can come with the need to be wanted."
Each track captures a different side of the inner critic, moving through themes such as romantic delusion, hidden shame, lingering regret, and emotional disconnection.
The EP includes previously released singles 'People Pleaser', 'The Saddest Thing', and 'The Queen of Mercy', as well as two new songs: 'Words' and 'Live and Let Down'.
Soda Blonde, composed of Faye O’Rourke (vocals), Adam O’Regan (guitar), Dylan Lynch (drums), and Donagh Seaver-O’Leary (bass), have steadily built a following in recent years. People Pleaser follows three earlier EPs: Terrible Hands (2019), Isolation Content (2020), and I Still Have Feelings for You (2021).
