SOUND is out now everywhere, listen to the full EP below.
Softdrink Millionaire have released their long awaited debut EP SOUND.
The five-track project captures the formation of the Bray-based indie band and introduces the singular voice of songwriter Josh Fortune.
Recorded in a shed in their hometown, the EP began as a solo project before Josh realised he didn’t want to do it alone: “I just wanted to get as many of my friends involved as possible instead of it being a personal vanity project. More fun, more novel ideas, better ideas come out of it with other people as well."
He added, “I realised a lot of my songs ended up being about food, I suppose using food as a symbol. One of the fundamentals of being a human is eating. I’m a greedy cunt.”
The band’s line-up, Josh Fortune (vocals, guitar), Joe Dillon (guitar), TERD co-founder Thomas Earls (bass), and Mountain Runner’s Jack Lawlor (drums), formed out of Bray’s DIY scene. They played early shows in venues like Dublin’s Anseo, Bray’s Harbour Bar, and the monthly outsider poetry and arts night Top End Romantics Division also known as TERD.

The outfit has a handful of live shows coming up, including two Irish dates, one tonight at The Harbour Bar in Bray (Friday, April 11), and another at McDowell’s in Inchicore, Dublin on Saturday, May 3.
