Dublin indie-rock outfit Somebody’s Child have announced a headline show at Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre on November 1, as part of an extensive UK and European tour to promote their new album When Youth Fades Away.
The band’s sophomore LP, released last month, earned an 8/10 rating from Hot Press. 2024 saw Somebody’s Child open for the likes of The War On Drugs, Bloc Party and Kings Of Leon, alongside a string of their own packed-out headline shows.
“If our first album was running away, this album is about staying put and reflecting,” said frontman Cian Godfrey. “We're letting people in and letting ourselves out.”
In a recent interview with Hot Press, Godfrey elaborated on the concept behind the record: “It’s the first time that we decided to do a concept. I think it’s a poignant feeling for the stage of life I’m in.
"What’s important to me is that people don’t see it as a coming of age record, but more so what happens after you come of age, and the feeling of uncertainty that goes along with that."
Announcing the tour on social media, the band wrote: “It’s been a while. Our biggest ever tour takes place this October/November.”
