Songs For Creatures
The prevailing mood of the album is best captured by sprawling space rock odysseys like ‘Hips For Scotland’.
Creatures sees the doyens of modern electro, Gigolos, embrace folk music. That’s right, the debut Psychonauts long player relives the excesses of the US West Coast scene on tracks like ‘Circles’ or on surf paeans like ‘Distance Between Dreams’. There are a few nods to the dancefloor – on the dubby house of ‘Empty Love’ and the electro of ‘Fear Is Real’ – but the prevailing mood of the album is best captured by sprawling space rock odysseys like ‘Hips For Scotland’.
