As part of our Now We're Talking special issue, we share songs from artists who have talked - or sung - through their mental health issues and shared their burdens.
One of the standout tracks on Kurt Cobain’s album of barbed confessionals, In Utero, the delicate chamber-piece ‘All Apologies’ establishes a tone of melancholic resignation, before ending on the cryptic allusion “All In all is all we are”. The definitive version is perhaps to be found on Nirvana’s Unplugged album, which is arguably even more haunting than the original.
