In honour of the anniversary, Sony will release a limited edition vinyl.
On June 14, Sony will release the 40th anniversary vinyl of Bruce Springsteen’s album Born In The U.S.A.
Springsteen had returned to Ireland this month and he is playing four sold out shows across the country. The first was on May 9 in Belfast at Boucher Road. The following will be on May 12 in Kilkenny, then Cork on May 16 and will end in Dublin on May 19.
This limited edition record will include a new coloured vinyl which will be a translucent red with a “gatefold sleeve and exclusive booklet with archival material from the era, new liner notes penned by Erik Flannigan and a four-colour lithograph,” as Sony puts it.

Born In The U.S.A was originally released on June 4, 1984 and had seven top ten singles. The album sold over 20 million copies to date and is an iconic household name.

When Springsteen first went on tour with The E Street Band in support of record they played 156 sold-out performances across the world. At their live shows today, Springsteen and his band still perform hits like ‘Dancing In The Dark, ‘No Surrender’ and ‘Glory Days’.
