English singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor has announced Australian electro-pop duo Sumner as the special guests for her two Dublin shows at the 3Olympia Theatre.
After the initial date on May 22 sold out, Sophie added an extra show on May 21.
Formed in 2018 by Chloe Wilson and Jack McLaine, Sumner will be supporting Sophie throughout the UK and Ireland leg of her headline tour.
They took to social media to express their excitement: "GUYS we are heading to the UK for our first ever international shows supporting the icon herself (Sophie Ellis-Bextor), an absolute honour, we can’t wait to come and dance with our UK friends x"
With a career spanning over 25 years, Sophie Ellis-Bextor has achieved numerous hits, including 'Murder on the Dancefloor', 'Take Me Home', 'Get Over You', 'Heartbreak (Make Me a Dancer)', and more.
Her 2001 hit 'Murder on the Dancefloor' saw a resurgence after featuring in the final scene of Emerald Fennell’s film Saltburn. The track charted at #2 in the UK Singles Chart and #58 in the Billboard Top 100, with the song reaching over 11 billion global streams across all streaming and social platforms.

The shows at 3Olympia follow the release of her new single 'Freedom of the Night', which marks a return to her pop, disco, and dance roots.
