Asciinoid's debut is a bit of a schizophrenic listen.
Irish act Asciinoid’s debut is something of a schizophrenic listen - the deep, classic 303-flecked house of ‘P-hunk’ and the bright, (hi-)techno of ‘Hi-Gloss’ appeal to these ears, while the frenetic, abrasive stompers like ‘Oscillator Drift’ and the (past-its-sell-by-date) cover of ‘Seven Nation Army’ will get the youths jumping. Asciinoid knows what he’s at, but overall this 12-tracker is lacking depth and is a little too jack-of-all-trades for its own good.
