SPRINTS, The Last Dinner Party, Kate Nash and Lambrini Girls are all getting involved in the upcoming radio event
BBC Radio 6 Music are gearing up for a major celebration of Courtney Love's music on Friday, April 12, to mark the 30th anniversary of Hole's iconic second album, Live Through This. The radio event, Courtney Love Forever, will see the American musician's songs played on air throughout the day (7am-7pm) – with Dublin band SPRINTS among the acts getting involved.
SPRINTS, alongside The Last Dinner Party, Kate Nash, Lambrini Girls and more, will be introducing Courtney's tracks on the day, with specially recorded voice notes.
Presenters will play one track per hour by the legendary artist, including 'Celebrity Skin', 'Doll Parts', 'Violet', 'Malibu', 'Miss World' (from Reading Festival 1994), 'Miss Narcissist', 'Mono', 'Awful', 'Petals', 'Olympia' (from a John Peel session in 1993), 'Star Belly' and 'Plump'.
April will also see 6 Music and BBC Sounds present Courtney Love's Women – a new eight-part music series, in which the artist shares the "ultimate soundtrack to her life, as she reflects on the women in music who have shaped her journey, her sound and her next chapter."
Episodes one to four will be available on BBC Sounds from Monday, April 8, and be broadcast on 6 Music between April 8 and 11, from 11pm to 12pm. Episodes five to eight will land on BBC Sounds on Monday, April 15, and air on 6 Music between April 15 and 18, from 11pm to 12pm.
