Take a dip into Squarehead's brand new album,High Tide, with their leading single 'Morning'...
Six years after their last album, Respect, Squarehead have returned to the game with brand new single 'Morning'.
An upcoming album, High Tide, has also been announced and is set to drop on September 27. It will be released under Strange Brew Records.
After producing three records in three years alongside constant touring, the band had decided to take a well-deserved break from the music scene and the album-a-year cycle for their own mental health.
Leaving on a six year-long hiatus allowed Squarehead's sound to brew and ferment which resulted in their chilled new track, 'Morning'.
"Morning is a Beatlesesque slow build set in the hazy middle ground between the sleep and waking state. This netherworld is made all the more alluring by the presence of a new lover who is being pleaded with to join their partner back in half sleep," says the band. "The song is an experiment with restraint, pace and lyrical economy that mirrors the experience of regaining consciousness.”
The new song is the leading single for their new album, High Time, which came about after an assortment of songs built up during a string of rehearsals.

This collection had been road-tested, and anything that didn't feel like it belonged in the album was mercilessly scrapped, ensuring that the album had a sense of uniform to it.
During recording sessions, producer Lesley Keye took the lead and keyboardist, Ruadhan O'Meara of Magic Pockets/No Spill Blood, lent his synthetic talent to the tracks.
Although the new album reflects their maturation and personal growth over the past six years, it still sticks to its alternative rock pop roots. They have not changed entirely, only evolved.
Although times have changed, it's now 'High Time' for another dip in the cooling waters of the Squarehead sound.
