You can look forward to a fiery processional event ahead of the sold-out show – as well as the new addition of rising star Brinda Irani to the phenomenal line-up...
Some of the leading names in Irish music are set to gather in St Brigid's Cathedral in Kildare on Sunday, February 4 – for She Moves Through The Fair, a celebration of traditional and contemporary songs about Irish women.
The event – supported by Kildare Village – will feature folk singer and harpist Moya Brennan of Clannad, art-soul pioneer Loah, singer and folklorist Lisa Lambe, roots music group The Henry Girls – and will introduce the special emerging talent Brinda Irani from nearby County Laois.
She Moves Through The Fair comes under the umbrella of the Nothing Compares series, presented by Hot Press and Kildare County Council. All events in the series are unique and joyful celebrations of Irish women creatives.
She Moves Through The Fair is part of the Brigid 1500 programme, which promises to be a very special celebration of the legend of Brigid – a Pagan goddess and a Christian saint who is symbolic of the power, strength and independence of women in Ireland.
LUXE Landscape Theatre will also lead a grand fiery processional event on the evening to celebrate Brigid, tying in with the concert in St. Brigid’s Cathedral.
She Moves Through The Fair is one of several Nothing Compares lined up over the coming days and weeks.
