The album will be the punk-indie trio’s ninth studio release.
Sleater-Kinney have confirmed that their new album will be produced by Grammy Award-winning musician St. Vincent. The project, expected to be released later this year, will be the group’s first studio album since 2015’s ‘No Cities to Love.’
Formed by Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker, Sleater-Kinney found major mainstream success in the early ‘00s. While the band members went on to pursue other musical projects after their hiatus in 2006, they reformed and began recording again in 2014.
Brownstein has also enjoyed major success as one of the creators of the popular comedy show ‘Portlandia,’ alongside Fred Armisen. The show came to an end after eight seasons in March.
This is not the first time St. Vincent has been associated with Sleater-Kinney. She appeared in Browstein’s ‘Portlandia’ on several occasions, and has also covered the group’s work.

St. Vincent’s last studio release was ‘MassEducation,’ a 2018 acoustic reworking of her ‘MASSEDUCTION’ album.
Both St. Vincent and Sleater-Kinney have confirmed their involvement in the new album on Facebook and Twitter.
