St. Vincent has officially released information about her seventh studio album, All Born Screaming, and uploaded the lead single, 'Broken Man.'
This album, entitled All Born Screaming is set to come out on April 26th via Virgin Music Group. This marks St Vincent's - real name Anne Erin Clark - first self-produced album.
In this record, she will be presenting her “post-plague” vision of emotional exploration. When asked in an interview about the album's impression, she had this to say: “There are some places, emotionally, that you can only get to by taking the long walk into the woods alone — to find out what your heart is really saying. It sounds real because it is real.”
The album was produced and recorded at her own Compound Fracture studio in LA, Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio in Chicago, and New York’s Electric Lady Studios. “I needed to go deeper in finding my own sonic vocabulary,” said Clark regarding the experience. “I like to think of [the record] as post-plague pop, it’s a lot about heaven and hell — the metaphorical kinds. Which is appropriate, because sitting alone in a studio for that many hours I would say is a version of hell.”
The album will feature Foo Fighter's Dave Grohl, as well as Cate Le Bon. Grohl can be found on drums in the latest single released from this album.
