Acclaimed American singer-songwriter Steve Earle is set to perform at the Helix in Dublin on October 28.
Earle will bring his solo and acoustic show to Ireland, following his massive 67-gig Fifty Years of Songs and Stories tour across North America this summer.
Marking five decades since the musician began songwriting and storytelling, Earle will take audiences through a chronological selection of his discography, interspersed with personal stories from his extensive career.
"A while back I was interviewing John Hiatt on my radio show and we realized we had known each other for fifty years," Earle said. "I met John in 1975, my first full year in Nashville and it occurred to me that the oldest songs that I still play (there are three) were written that year."
"Now, I live to follow creative rabbits down holes and I'm old enough, now, that the idea of a legacy comes up now and then," he continued. "So, I decided that a more or less chronological live songbook might make for an interesting evening of music."
