It has been a year since tragedy struck the Parisian theatre.
British pop star Sting will perform at the Bataclan theatre this weekend in honour of its reopening. The concert marks the one year anniversary since extremists ravaged the theatre with guns and explosives in a series of Islamic terror attacks last year.
On November 13, 2015, ninety concert-goers were slaughtered during a string of terrorist attacks that shook Paris and the world. The Bataclan murders were some of the last acts of terror that fateful night.
A year later, the theatre is now entirely refurbished. The owners claim, “Everything was changed to erase the damage to the structure of the building, but for nothing to change." The owners have brought a once ghostly place back to life and welcome concerts to brighten the theatre once again.
Sting will play songs from his new album 57th & 9th and he plans on donating the proceeds from the concert to two different charities to help the survivors.

English musician, Peter Doherty, is also slated to play at the newly refurbished concert hall a week later.
Tickets are already sold out for the November 12 show.
