A trio of classic tunes plus a chat with the Cork heroes.
Ready to get all nostalgic in the Cork Opera House this Saturday (October 25) as they celebrate 25 years together, The Frank And Walters graced us with their presence recently for a trip down memory lane and a session.
Talking to Roisin Dwyer in HP Towers, Paul Linehan, Ashley Keating and Rory Murphy discussed their fondest memories from the band's life to date – surreal fruit chat and giving Radiohead their big break included – and revealed how work is coming along on the follow-up to 2012's Greenwich Mean Time. You'll be glad to hear it's been going very well in the studio indeed.
Not only that, we were thrilled to see the boys break out the guitars (and tambourine) for a spirited run through three of their finest numbers: 'After All' from their classic debut, the evergreen single 'Colours' and, bringing it up to date, Greenwich Mean Time's 'Each Tree'. Check it out below.
For full band versions of those numbers and plenty more from their enviable back catalogue, don't miss The Frank And Walters' very special Cork Opera House show on Saturday. The Minutes, Decky and Dave from Rubyhorse, Cronin and Renegade Brass Band all play support to celebrate the 25th Anniversary on the night, which promises to be a late one.
