24-year-old Grime MC Stormzy has been nominated for two Ivor Novello award for his 2017 debut album 'Gang Signs and Prayer'. Stormzy, born Michael Omari, has been nominated under the Best Contemporary Song category for his song 'Don't Cry for Me', performed with Raleigh Ritchie, and for the Ivor Novello Album Award.
The nominations follow a meteoric couple of years for Stormzy, whose debut album is certified platinum in the UK.
Others on the nominations list include Sampha, Everything Everything, Rag'n'Bone Man and Ed Sheeran.
The Ivor Novello Awards celebrate the best in songwriting and composing and works eligible for nominations were released commercially in the UK in 2017 and have a British or Irish songwriter contribution making up at least one third.
The awards are named after Welsh composer and actor Ivor Novello, who became one of the most popular British entertainers in the first half of the 20th century.
The awards will be held at Grosvenor House in London on May 31.
