The superstar UK rapper has revealed his latest single ahead of the release of his hotly anticipated album, Heavy Is the Head.
Stormzy has unleashed "Audacity" featuring Headie One, the fifth single ahead of his forthcoming album Heavy Is the Head, out this Friday. The accompanying visual, directed by British director Taz Tron Delix, was shot during the night and mirrors the gritty production of the track, aligning with Stormzy’s unfettered confidence and sharp wordplay.
“Oh what a catastrophe, I changed the game drastically,” he raps, before concluding the record with the line, “When Banksy put the vest on me, felt like God was testing me”—a reference to the festival moment this summer where he wore a stab-proof vest designed by British artist Banksy.
Stormzy announced Heavy Is the Head in November, shortly after revealing his single "Own It" featuring Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy. The track went on to become Stormzy’s third Top 5 single in the Official Irish Charts. Last week, the musician announced the 58-date H.I.T.H. World Tour, with shows spanning across Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, North America, UK & Ireland and Africa. The tour marks Stormzy’s biggest live offering to date, kicking off in Dubai on 7 February and concluding in Africa in October. In autumn, the tour will also see Stromzy perform at Dublin’s 3Arena for two nights on 7 and 8 September.
Heavy Is the Head marks a well-awaited return for the grime icon. The record was executively produced entirely by the musician himself, and features additional vocals from Aitch, Burna Boy, Ed Sheeran, Headie One, H.E.R., Tiana Major9 and YEBBA. Production was handled by Fred Gibson, Fraser T Smith, T-Minus and others.
