In a show that brings together the varying worlds of classical orchestration and hip-hop for an enthralling experience that chronicles the latter's history, 2FM's 'The Story of Hip-Hop Part 2' will be coming to Dublin's 3Arena on the 28th of December.

Having previously stolen the show at Electric Picnic's Rankin's Wood tent, the show takes attendees on a journey through each era of hip-hop history, ranging from its first signs of commercial success in the early 1980s up to the present day. Each track played marks an important stage of the genre's formation and growth, from the hit singles to the underground influences.

Its second installment sees the addition of nearly thirty extra minutes to the show, which shines a light onto the UK scene and the rapid ascension of grime, meaning tracks from the likes of Stormzy, Skepta and Kano will be joining contemporaries such as Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

More than simply a succession of songs, joining the audio history will be a visual story playing throughout the show that further documents the evolution of hip-hop from the 1970s to the present day.

Also bringing the story to life will be some of Ireland's leading performers in Jess Kavanagh, Mango (of Mango x Mathman), Erica Cody and Jafaris. They'll be joining Dj Mo K, who with nearly two decades worth of experience is one of the most prominent fixtures of the Irish hip-hop scene. The 2FM DJ will be scratching and DJ'ing live, and is the centre piece of the project which will feature a host of different medleys, mash-ups and transitions involving the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
