Streaming exclusively on Disney+, Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger is a celebration of not only the band, but also their amazing fans!
"That Oasis generation took our music to their hearts – and gave it to their kids," Noel Gallagher observes in the film, which is streaming exclusively on Disney+
For a generation of Oasis fans, the prospect of seeing Liam and Noel Gallagher on the same stage again had long since passed from hope into fantasy. Then, after 15 years apart, came Oasis Live ’25 – the scale of which was extraordinary, becoming one of the defining music stories of 2025 as three million fans filled stadiums around the world from those who had grown up with the band to a new generation of equally loyal fans.
Thirty years ago, many Oasis fans were teenagers. On the Live ’25 reunion tour, some arrived with teenagers of their own, as Noel Gallagher notes: "That Oasis generation took our music to their hearts – and gave it to their kids."
It’s that sense of a band belonging to millions of different lives which gives Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger much of its emotional kick. And following its big-screen run, the Disney+ release brings all the scale and noise of Oasis: Live ’25 into the living room.
The film takes us inside the first Oasis rehearsals, when many thought the great reunion might wobble before it had properly begun. Noel and the band work through the set – including, tantalisingly, 'Columbia', which would never make the tour – while Liam’s arrival hangs over the room.
When he eventually appears, he is reassuringly unimpressed by the soundproofing around the drums, before stepping up to the microphone and reminding everybody why they are there. Bonehead beams. The band sound like Oasis again. Then, with comic Gallagher timing, Liam waves goodbye and walks out while they are still mid-song. Fifteen years of estrangement haven't disappeared in a Hollywood embrace. The brothers simply start working.

There’s the Brazilian fan who named a rescued stray dog Bonehead, after Oasis guitarist Paul Arthurs. In South Korea, two female divers talk about their friendship and their connection to 'Acquiesce'. An Argentine supporter of San Lorenzo has even reworked 'Wonderwall' into an anthem for his football club.
One young Japanese fan perhaps puts the relationship most simply - when you fall down, Oasis fall with you – and then help pull you back up again.
In Dublin, you can hear ‘The Auld Triangle’ rippling through the crowd just before the band came out for the first of their two Croke Park shows.
“Their connection to Ireland is absolutely tangible,” the movie's creator and writer, Steven Knight, tells Hot Press. “Where else would they be so reminded of their childhood because they spent a lot of happy summers there as kids.”
Most movingly, the film meets a survivor of the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing. She recalls the importance of 'Don’t Look Back In Anger' after the attack, when the song became part of Manchester’s collective response to the tragedy. We later see her at the reunion tour singing it with thousands of other people. That is where the movie becomes something more than a document of two famously warring brothers finally sharing a stage again.
Oasis at Croke Park 16-08-25. By Big Brother RecordingsOasis songs have spent three decades escaping the records they originally appeared on. They’ve become pub songs, football songs, wedding songs, songs of friendship and loss – music inherited by many people who weren’t even born when Definitely Maybe came out. The film catches grown men openly weeping, teenagers doing much the same and, in Manchester, fans without tickets gathering on a hill simply to hear the concert drifting across the city.
And that makes its arrival on Disney+ particularly apt.
At home, you can turn the lights down, turn the sound up and experience those extraordinary shows again. But you also get closer to the individual faces inside the stadiums – and the stories explaining why the songs mattered quite so much.
If you were there, it’s an opportunity to relive the summer when Oasis finally returned. If you weren’t, Disney+ is about to bring the crowd to you accompanied by previously unseen footage that doesn’t feature in the cinematic release. Watch the trailer below...
