Street Drumming (Live session)
While undoubtedly great things are happening on the stages of Ireland’s small music venues, it’s easy to forget that great musicians perform on our streets every day, and none are making a more marvellous noise than drum duo Rob MCornish and Ror Conaty. Making Dubliners late for appointments since 2008, Rob and Ror are no strangers to live performance (McCornish plays with genre-hopping duo The Bull Munro, while Conaty plays with female-fronted alt. rock outfit Veroa), but watching them manipulate their homemade percussive doohickeys on Grafton Street is a very special treat. This live video, filmed by Simon O’Neill, captures their precision and showmanship perfectly. Lucky, lucky Dublin.
