The extremely good news for Suede fans is that Brett, Richard, Simon and Mat have announced a Sunday October 14 visit to Dublin's Bord Gais Energy Theatre, with tickets going on general sale this Friday.
The evergreen Britpoppers will be plugging their new album, The Blue Hour, which drops before it on September 21.
"The Blue Hour is the time of day when the light is fading and night is closing in," we're told. "The songs hint at a narrative but never quite reveal it and never quite explain. But as with any Suede album, it’s always about the songwriting. The band, the passion and the noise: The Blue Hour."
The follow up to 2016's much-lauded Night Thoughts, it was again written as a continuous piece, although there are fourteen distinct, thematically linked songs on the record.
With the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra pitching in, it's a sumptuous affair produced by veteran studio man Alan Moulder, and featuring: 'As One', 'Wastelands', 'Mistress', 'Beyond The Outskirts', 'Chalk Circles', 'Cold Hands', 'Life Is Golden', 'Roadkill', 'Tides', 'Don’t Be Afraid If Nobody Loves You', 'Dead Bird', 'All The Wild Places', 'The Invisibles' and 'Flytipping'.
No gasoline, but plenty of urban alienation, beauty among the decay, outsider romance and all the other Suede tropes we've come to know and thoroughly love.
