Their collab album A Beginner's Mind is only a month away from release.
Sufjan Stevens and Angele De Augustine have shared two songs from their collaborative album A Beginner's Mind.
'Fictional California' and 'Back to Oz' are the second set of singles to arrive from the record, which comes out on September 24.
The latter track comes with a music video, with Stevens describing it as a song they wrote after watching the film Return to Oz.
"The words reference an erosion of a central character’s internal reality," he wrote in a press release. "A loss of innocence is the impetus for a journey to find inner truth. Dorothy returns to the world of Oz to find its landscape in ruins and its citizens frozen in stone.
"Only she can find the ruby slippers and return peace to Oz. Only we can save ourselves, but we first have to remember who we truly are.
"The song has a fun guitar groove, so we gave it some bass and drums, and Angelo even recorded his first electric guitar solo. It’s a sad song—being mostly about disillusionment—but it has a great party vibe too.”

Both tunes arrive on the back of previously released tracks from the LP, 'Reach Out' and 'Olympus.'
The two artists created the album together in a cabin, where they watched movies together every day, which loosely inspired their material.
