Sufjan Stevens has announced a 2-LP 10th-anniversary special edition of his critically acclaimed 2015 album Carrie & Lowell, set for release on May 30.
The double album will feature 40 minutes of new music across seven previously unreleased tracks, a 40-page booklet containing personal photos and Stevens' own artwork, and a new essay by the singer.
The American singer-songwriter has also released one of the album's tracks: a demo of 'Mystery of Love,' which was taken from the original Carrie & Lowell album sessions but later re-recorded for Luca Guadagnino's Oscar-winning film Call Me By Your Name (2017).
Other new tracks in the album include demos of 'Death with Dignity', 'Should Have Known Better,' 'The Only Thing,' and 'Eugene,' along with expansive outtakes of 'Fourth of July' and 'Wallowa Lake Monster.'
The cover features a full-framed version of the original Polaroid zoomed out to reveal the photo’s caption ("Carrie and Lowell").

Sufjan Stevens is an Academy Award and Grammy-nominated artist and multi-instrumentalist. Beginning with 2000's A Sun Came, Stevens has released 10 solo studio albums to date, alongside several collaborative records and EPs.
The sparsely instrumented indie folk of Carrie & Lowell turned the album into an instant critical success. In Ireland, the record was certified Gold, while its track 'Fourth of July' was certified double Platinum.
