Sum Of Parts
Taking its cues from an impressively modern interpretation of electro, the album represents the dance floor breaks variety
Those readers with a long memory and a long clubbing record may remember Eon from his hardcore days and tracks like ‘This Is Music’ and the utterly deranged, aptly named ‘Basket Case’. Since the early ’90s it seems that Eon has been living a somewhat sheltered musical life and Parts is his first proper and significant return to electronic music. Taking its cues from an impressively modern interpretation of electro, the album represents the dance floor breaks variety – check ‘Dark Nature’ and ‘Tantalus’ – funky acidic twists and turns and even some pulsating, electro influenced tech-funk. It’s a far cry from hands in the air euphoria, but it’s still a fine, assured and occasionally menacing comeback.
