As part of our Summer of Music 2021 special feature, we spoke to some of the artists preparing to return to the stage...
Fears
“I’m trying to remain hopeful about the return of live music. To be honest, until everyone is fully vaccinated, I don’t see things running particularly smoothly, but that hasn’t stopped me daydreaming. It’s been do long that I’m a bit anxious about performing again, but it’s something I really do want to do.
"Anything I’m planning at the moment has to have about five back up plans. Booking shows, accommodation, travel, and everything that surrounds the world of live performance is being done under a strict free-cancellation policy.
"I’m imagining gigs are going to be socially distanced for a good while, with plenty of sitting down. I think the atmosphere will be great regardless. People are so excited to be in a venue again. I have some Irish shows lined up towards the end of the year, so I’ve got plenty of dresses ready! I’m also playing Mutations Festival in Brighton – I’m hoping that goes ahead. I miss dancing so much. It’s been a year and a half of dancing in my bedroom. I’m ready to get back out into the real world again.”
