With the combination of the Live Performance Support Scheme and the success of the Government's test gigs at the Iveagh Gardens and the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, we are on the verge of a huge explosion of music activity. As part of our Summer of Music 2021 special feature, we spoke to some of the artists preparing to return to the stage...
Joshua Burnside:
“I have a mixture of excitement and trepidation about returning to live gigs. Like most performers, I can’t wait to get back to gigs, playing them and going to them. But I also feel a little out of practice, not musically but with performing in front of an audience; I haven’t had that rush of adrenaline in a while – I may be a little rusty when it comes to managing my nerves. But I’m really looking forward to meeting new people and performing in new places."
