What: Mike the Pies has built a reputation as one of the best-loved live music venues in Ireland. Since the beginning of lockdown, the Listowel venue has hosted a series of special gigs, run with the support of the Department of Tourism, Culture, the Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, as part of the Live Performance Support scheme. Aiden O’Connor has now announced a fresh run of live performances, featuring some major Irish names. “We’re looking forward to welcoming Live Music back to Mike the Pies. Great to have all our crew back working with massive thanks to Catherine Martin TD and the Department of Culture,” Aiden tells Hot Press. “Without the grant we received, these gigs wouldn’t be possible. Thanks to Live Venue Collective for the support – we look forward to welcoming our customers and gig goers back to MTP in a limited capacity setting.”
